The Rebuild Synergy Project aims to rehabilitate Ukrainian homes, enabling families to return to their residences. This initiative seeks financial aid from potential donors to restore not just the houses, but also the supporting infrastructure. We mainly work with portfolio donors, often teaming up with 501(c)(3) organizations in the United States to facilitate collaborations.
The Rebuild Synergy Project undertakes the following key steps:
- Establishes contact with apartment complexes (condominiums) impacted by armed conflicts.
- Evaluates professional assessments of the inflicted damage—only reports from licensed construction experts are considered.
- Conducts an initial analysis of the work needed and potential funding sources for reconstruction.
- Assesses and approves applications from condominiums to join the project.
- Coordinates donation efforts.
- Oversees that funds are spent in line with the approved budget.
- Supervises the quality of the work performed.
- Guarantees complete transparency in the usage of the donated funds and provides comprehensive reports on how the funds were spent. Upon request, donors can receive a detailed business plan for the restoration of their chosen condominium.
As part of this initiative, city-specific projects are being developed. Over the period of 2023-25, our global platform aims to raise a minimum of $100 million to rejuvenate residential buildings in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions. By leveraging business synergies—namely, attracting co-financing from various sources—we expect to enable reconstruction work on apartment buildings worth an estimated $500 million.
Take for instance our project in the city of Irpin—The Rebuild Irpin Synergy. Here, we’ve selected 10 multi-apartment condominiums for the initial phase, with an estimated reconstruction cost of around $2,338,130. Potential donors have the freedom to select which condominium they’d like to contribute to. The global platform aims to raise $338,780 of this sum. Note that the apartment owners are responsible for their own internal renovations. The completion of these condominiums’ refurbishment is projected for October 2023. Here is one example of such a home: https://www.ourhomeirpin.com/en
This project is open to condominiums that have suffered partial damage due to warfare and are eligible for restoration. Under the business synergy model, up to 70% of the funds required for significant repairs (excluding apartment remodeling) are sourced from condominiums, while the International Platform Rebuild Ukraine Synergy is responsible for attracting up to 30% of the funds.
Participation prerequisites for condominiums include having a feasible reconstruction business plan and proven funding sources for up to 70% of the costs.
